I have read your Article about Irish Free State 3-3 vs wales in 1923/24 and Jacobs FC- I have a picture of the Free state team as my Grandfather Jimmy Harvey (Jacobs and later shelbourne) was on the team- I also have a photo of the Shelbourne 1923 team that lost to Alton Rovers if interested. my e-mail is Brianharveydublin@gmail.com.

Hi, I don’t know if you would be able to help. I am looking for a picture of Patrick Joseph (“Joe”) Cassidy who was a goalkeeper who played for Bohemians and Shelbourne around 1912-1914. He played one league game for Grimsby Town on 26 April 1913. I am trying to collect a picture of every player to play for Grimsby and Joe is proving quite elusive! Gerry, as a wee boy in Dundee, Scotland in the late 70’s, I used to listen to RTE on Monday mornings when having my breakfast before school, in order to hear the results of the Sunday games. There was something about the name Bohemians which struck a chord and they’ve been ‘my team’ ever since. I enjoyed your articles re Bohs in Europe, and I had that team picture for years….sure it was from football mag, Shoot? Anyway, hoping to get across this year for a game. Keep up the good work.
